The Kindle Fire can be connected to a computer for the purpose of downloading and transferring content between the devices such as ebooks, videos, photos, and other types of media. Follow the steps outlined in this article to learn how to connect your Kindle Fire to a computer.

  1. Connect the Kindle Fire to your computer using a micro-USB cable. Micro-USB cables are sold separately, and not packaged with the Kindle Fire.

  2. Type “Troubleshooting” in the search bar and press “Enter”.
  3. In the “Troubleshooting” window, click on “View All” on the left pane.
  4. Click on “Hardware and Devices”.
  5. Click on “Advanced” and then click on “Run as Administrator”.
  6. Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

  • Method 4: Check the Windows updates for any latest driver updates. After running the troubleshooter, check in Windows updates if any driver updates are available. If so, install the same and check if it helps.
