McAfee Mobile Security for Kindle End of Life Announcement

Summary

In 2017, McAfee Mobile Security for Kindle will no longer be supported.

To ensure a smooth End-of-Life (EOL) process, review the following End of Life timeline and considerations if you have McAfee Mobile Security on your Kindle device:

For customers outside of Japan, this is effective March 1, 2017.

  • On November 30, 2016, McAfee Mobile Security for Kindle will be removed from the app store. This means you are no longer able to install or reinstall the app.
  • As of March 1, 2017, the McAfee Mobile Security for Kindle app icon will remain visible on your device; however, the app will be disconnected and all app features disabled.
  • On March 31, 2017, McAfee will begin the process of deleting all personal user data that pertains to the McAfee Mobile Security for Kindle service. This means that you will not be able to log in or view your account on www.mcafeemobilesecurity.com as of this date. If you would like to back up any account information, please log in from your PC or other mobile device before March 1, 2017.
  • If you have signed up for automatic renewal:
    • Your McAfee Mobile Security for Kindle subscription will not be renewed after November 30, 2016, and your credit card will no longer be charged for McAfee Mobile Security for Kindle.
    • You can manage your McAfee subscription(s) by logging in to your account on https://home.mcafee.com, and manually opt out of automatic renewal at any time.
  • If you are not signed up for automatic renewal, there is no action needed.
  • If you have any questions about your subscription, or if your current subscription extends past March 1, 2017, you can contact Customer Service at https://service.mcafee.com to learn about your refund options.
  • You can remove the app from your Kindle device at any time.
  • After March 31, 2017, McAfee will no longer provide technical support for McAfee Mobile Security for Kindle. If you have any questions about how to uninstall, please, see TS101407.

For customers in Japan, this is effective May 10, 2017.

  • On March 1, 2017, McAfee Mobile Security for Kindle will be removed from the app store. This means you will no longer be able to download or reinstall the app.
  • As of May 10, 2017, the McAfee Mobile Security for Kindle app icon will remain visible on your device; however the app will be disconnected and all app features will be disabled.
  • On July 1, 2017, McAfee will begin deleting all personal user data that pertains to the McAfee Mobile Security for Kindle service. This means that you will not be able to log in or view your account on www.mcafeemobilesecurity.com as of this date. If you want to back up any account information, log in from your PC or other mobile device before May 10, 2017.
  • If you have signed up for automatic renewal:
    • Your McAfee Mobile Security for Kindle subscription will not be renewed after November 30, 2016, and your credit card will no longer be charged for McAfee Mobile Security for Kindle.
